Here is an article that appeared in my local paper a couple weeks ago. I just noticed that some of the serial numbers only have 6 numbers so that must be a type-o.
Also a cab driver was telling me he seen two fake $10 notes and they had the same numbers but different prefix letters.

Thunder Bay residents are being warned about fake Canadian $20 and $100 bills.

Police have seen numerous examples of the fake money.

Serial #'s on the fake $20 bills are AYM9230867,EMA1693571,AMM573536,AYM357263,AAM557263, DAW8683618 and AWV1752372.

Serial #'s on the fake $100 bills are  BKB7502175 and BKB7502192.

Police said the paper is generally of poor quality.

Are the fake 20s and 100s journey series?

Here are some more from the police report in the Hanover-area weekly paper.  There are generally one or more per week.
Last week:  $10 FDY 1170312 (at a grocery store) This week:  $10 DWQ 3259685 (in Bank of NS deposit)
No other details are given.
