Could a misalignment of the perforated words "SPECIMEN" on a specimen note be considered an error?
I've seen a 1972 $5 Specimen note where the perforated words don't line up, and a small part of the letter "N" in "SPECIMEN" is missing.
I'll show you what I mean...
First, a normally-perforated 1971 $10 Specimen note...

Interesting. I'd be curious as to what Tom has to say about this.

Thanks BWJM. I'm also curious to see what Tom or others might have to say.
For most of the specimen series prior to the Multicolour, the word "Specimen" was perforated into each note three times, then twice starting with the Multicolour series.
If I hadn't seen this 1972 note, I would have thought the BofC used a press to make the 2 or 3 perforations at the same time, through several dozen notes at the same time. Based on this 1972 note, it looks like each perforation of the word "Specimen" was done separately and by hand??

Very interesting, I would say that your note would carry a slight premium, but would be much higher if the letter was off the edge of the note or missing. This is the first one I have seen, but however, I have not looked for it either.
