Paul Loyer, known as Paul in North Bay, passed away on July 6, 2006 from heart failure. Paul was a avid collector of coins and paper money and made several posts on this site. He had been fighting cancer for several years, and apparently got the best of the illness right until the end. His wit and charm will be missed.

I didn't know him well, but I would like to express my sympathies as well. :'(

That is very sad. I would also like to express my sympathies to his family and friends. :(

I have had a number of dealings with Paul and found him to be a true gentleman. Paul will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

My sympathy goes out to his family, and his money collecting family.  He was a fabulous guy with passion, courage, compassion and full of grace.  He battled his cancer through thick and thin... with lots of chemo treatment over the past years.  His words, his wisdom, and knowledge with both paper money and coins will surely be missed.  Even up to the last few days, he was still active on both the Canadian Paper Money website and the Canadian Coin Discussion boards.

He will be missed.  May you rest in peace Paul - total respect for you.
