Small variety??

News: Welcome to the Canadian Paper Money Forum.

Was looking at the $5 with the "Printed in 2005" and notice that the letters under the portrait didn't look right. After looking at all my Journey $5, it seems there is a small difference with the 2005 version. Look at the scan.

Anyone notice when this started?

Yes, I have noticed this as well....

I have seen about equal numbers of each....  :-/

I just figured a slight difference in the register alignment.  

Or is this a new "Hidden Name" Variety?  

I just looked at 2 notes and can readily see what you are describing.   It does remind me of the CLear BPN vs the Hidden BPN's of the Bird's Series.  
The 2004 (and early 2005) have the background swirly design obliterated so you can easily read the prime minister's name.
On the 2005 version the background design blends with the printed name making it much more difficult to discern (esp the name).
