$5 Journey Bricks in Heavy Plastic BoC Bags with Straps

I received two bricks today in the heavy plastic heat sealed bags with BoC printed on the plastic.

Both of these bricks had plastic straps reminiscent of the days when CBN packaged bricks.

The AOH 9042000 brick had ten individual bundles of 100 notes and two plastic straps.  The AOJ 1167000
brick was similar except that it also had the large paper band wrapping the 10 individual bundles.  All
bundle bands were white and had the BoC logo on them.

I have discussed this with Gilles Pomerleau and he has heard of similar bundles being found by five
different brick searchers across Canada.  He feels that this is a result of bricks being repackaged at the
Bank of Canada when the thin plastic wrap on the bricks is damaged in transport from the printers to the BoC.

The notes in both bricks were in perfect sequential order with no replacements found.

I have attached images of both bricks for those members who have never seen these types of bricks.

So is a brick of $5 worth $5,000

The face value of a brick of $5 notes is $5000 (1000 notes).

Is it worth $5000 ?  Probably a lot more if replacements are found in the brick 

Yes, and some people get a Block of $5 Notes (4 Bricks is a sealed and strapped pack) $20,000 Face Value 

Just wondering, are these bags air tight and vaccumed?

No, the bags weren't air tight or vacuum-sealed, as the bricks had room to move around the bag.

I had heard about other similar packed bricks that contained the scarce AOK, AOM and AOP single note
replacements, so I was very eager to rip these bags open and look betwen the 000 and 001 note for
those coveted replacement notes.  Alas, both bricks were clean with no replacements. 

I have gone through over 30 bricks recently without finding a single replacement note.  A definate
dry spell.

Yes.... I too have gone into a dry-spell as well....

With SNR's even sheet Inserts are beginning to be far and few between. 

There are people who have gotten 100 Bricks of $10's and never got a single thing... 

Give credit to quality control work of the printer. I have yet to get a brick with the packaging Arthur shown here. Just the ones with the paper band around the bundles and shrink wrapped versions to so far.

Thanks for the photos Arthur.  I hope to get into brick searching at some point.  It's nice to see what the bricks actually look like.
