Hi All:

My brother in Sudbury received from an ATM a Journey $20 note with an incomplete security strip. The top part of the security strip is barely there, and is complete from the coat of arms down to the bottom of the note. (Sorry, didn't have a way to get a scan or a picture... I left my camera back in Mississauga).

The serial number is: ALJ6388330, FP: 68, BP: 63. It's in extremely fine condition.

Any idea of the worth???

Thanks

John

Hi There, Nice find from the ATM. I checked my Charlton Guide and they don't have a specific listing for the security strips, but it does have a listing for  the Bird series $20's for when the Optical Security Device was misplaced on the front of the note. I figure your error would fall into the same catagory. the book price for an Unc with that 'type' of error is $200 and an EF note would be 60% of the Unc price.
I might be off on this and hopefully some other members could help still.
  Thanks Dave.
