Hi all,

Being new at all this, can anyone give me a few tips on the best way to scan bills? Not sure if it would be better to take a "photo" or to scan? What about background colour? Any advise as to the resolution would be best for scanning and posting?

Thanks

Rod

Kelownaguy,

Photos are very tricky if you are not a seasoned photographer. Scanning is a lot easier.

Your best bet to scan is to use a dark (preferably black) background and scan at 150 dpi to see fine details, for posting to the web, you can use 100 dpi.  Most monitors use only 72 dpi as their resolution, so at 150 a note really looks good.
