Only one of these GEM's have been sold to date at the Nuphilex Auction in March 2008. The note graded CCCS UNC 67 and after buyers premium and taxes sold for approx $5700.00.

This quote is from ebay item number 200223480150 and the auction is for a $5 note with the number HOZ 99528**.

I was surprised to hear that an insert note sold for so much, has anyone else heard of this sale?

A sale did take place at Nuphilex for a 2005 HOZ (9.952M - 9.953M) SNR with a realized price of CDN $4300
plus the juice.

http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260216284318

The end price was a result of a bidding war between two collectors, who are well known for wanting to
own an example of every Journey replacement note range.   I find it very hard to believe that this price
will ever be duplicated for a replacement range that has yet to appear in the catalogue, and with a known
number found of at least 8.  In addition to the ones found in Alberta, there are a number of these notes
that were found in Quebec.

IMHO..........Although scarce, this note does not currently warrant such a high market valuation based on
the limited information known to date.

BTW..........This statement is not entirely accurate as I purchased one of these SNRs from a collector/brick
searcher in Quebec in September 2007 for about $500.  Only one may have been sold publicly but I know
of at least two that have changed hands privately for less than $1000.

I will refrain from any further comments, otherwise I may be accused of undermining an existing eBay auction listing  :-X

I'm thinking inserts might be a good idea after all.?

Any idea where these two bidders will be in the near future? I have some HNZ inserts I could put in the auction.  ;)

What's an insert note?
It's a replacement note. Random prefix within certain ranges will be inserted in bundles of notes to replace damaged notes.
