1917 Canadian Bank of Commerce $10

I just branched out to Canadian Currency and I have a dealer who likes to stock it.  He has a 1917 Canadian Bank of Commerce $10 (Aird/Logan) with the General Manager in script and not capital block letters.

In my research here on the net, I figure it to be a 75-16-04-12 or 12c.  What is the difference between these 2 because both appear, from my limited research, to have the script General Manager?

The condition of the note I am interested in is raw VF-20 with no pin holes and pretty good paper.  Serial #486759.

Any idea on values, census numbers and rarity?

Also, this is a nice board (I also am on the PCGS Currency Board).

Welcome to the slightly complicated world of the 1917 Commerce issue, Roger!
The sheet number suggests that your dealer has a Small Logan-Typed General Manager (italics) $10.
That would be 75-16-12.
To differentiate the signatures, the Small Logan is 2.5 cm from end to end, with a very small loop in the lower part of the letter g of Logan.  The Decorative Logan is 3.2 cm from end to end, with an extravagantly large loop, almost triangular, in the g.  (All Decorative Logan notes are rare.)  FYI - The different styles of Logan are clearly illustrated on page 64 of Canadian Bank Notes, sixth edition.
It is a rare note, with 10 on the register.  If confirmed, the note under discussion would be the eleventh to turn up.
If it makes VF the catalogue value would be Cdn $1,050 ($550 for Fine).  The top grade recorded so far is also VF (pressed).
It would be great if you could obtain an image to post to this thread, so the identity of the note could be confirmed for note register purposes!

I could not get a pic of the note but I did get a look at it today and it is the small Logan signature (Darn!). 

Still, what do you value it as as a Very Fine, with no pinholes or edge tears, and is there a census number for this note?

I am probably going to buy it but I want to pay a fair price as well.

The price and census information I gave you was for the small signature.
The small signature is at least as rare as the decorative Logan when combined with the typed (italics) General Manager.

I guess I am catching the Canadian "bug" for large currency (Just like I still have the "bug" for US Large Currency (especially Large Stars!).

I think I'll ask for the latest Charlton book for Christmas

Once i got that book i finished it in 3 days!! never been that motivated with my school  textbooks sadly

Hello everyone,  Back on Nov. 17th I asked about the value of a 1917 $10 Canadian Bank of Commerce Note.  I did not have it in hand but I picked it up today and scanned it for you.  

There are no tears or pinholes and I, as well as as few friends and a dealer, believe it is around a VF-20.

Should I keep it raw or get it "Professionally" graded?
