To grade or not to grade that is the question

News: Welcome to the Canadian Paper Money Forum.

I recently purchased 6 sequential 1954 $2.00 notes in AUNC condition..although I do collect I consider myself more of a hoarder than a collector.I hope that will change when I retire and can spend more time with the hobby. These are very nice notes and I do not have anything professionally graded.....I am thinking maybe I should get these graded. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends on the signatures prefix/serial numbers, condition
If they are reg modified $2 notes it would be a waste of money to grade them...it could cost more than the note is worth

Also you can hoard notes for now and get them graded anytime if you're not going to do anything with them for a long time.

I just reread my original post....forgot the mention a few things. THey are beattie/Rasminsky and replacement notes prefix BB....still worth holding off on grading?

I still don't think worth the cost of grading....

It can depend on a variety of things such as what TPG  you use, where they are located, the type of bill, the amount of bills submitted and the value of the bill(s).
Each grader has their price guideline for notes, shipping and handling, insurance,special promotions etc.
Most info can be found on the internet for each individual TPG.
