"The Big Red Fifty"

by Jonathan L. Seaward, "four-star" member

The year's almost out, and let's give a big shout
As the final new note comes out real soon
A week from Wednesday
I really must say
The $50's are out five months after June

The big red bill, that will soon be in tills
In the merchants' cash registers across the land
A month before Christmas
I'll cross the isthmus
To get the new fifty in the palms of my hands

The portrait's still King, and I am not joking
The new $50 is gonna be a great big hit
Images of women
And not from Timmins
Known as the "Famous 5", what ya think of it?

Nation Building's the theme, and it ain't no scheme
The women who helped shape democracy
It is now law
It ain't no flaw
That women are persons, I really must say

Well, that's the last stanza, and it was a bonanza
Writing poems about the new Journey notes
And until the next series
I will eat berries ;D
For ten years or so, I'll eat them with rolled oats! ;D
(Not!)

Later!  Jonathan ;)
