FEC inserts

According to Charlton Caltalogue (p.296) FEC are inserts from 9,800,000 to 9,999,000 but here in our H/L list a 9,998,727 one was reported as regular note but was found in circulation. I just want to know if I should hold on to a FEC9,924,839 that is not in great condition (VG-F).

any thoughts?

I would think that the one listed is an insert note because it was found in circulation.  As for your note, I would consider your note as a insert note.  However, because of the condition of your note, I don't think it's worth holding on to it.  However, if you are missing this specific insert note from your collection, I would keep it as a filler.  I don't think the value will rise over face because of the VG-F condition.

First of, you can safely read the Charlton as 9,800,000 to 9,999,999 for an insert range of 200K.
(I seriously doubt that the last brick in the run was issued as regular notes.)
Second, since you note ends with a number between 500 and 999, check if it is a missing circle note. If it is, it may be worth keeping regardless of its condition.

Well thank you both for your response.
Its not a missing circle variety and considering I dont collect replacement for now, it doesn't fill a hole in my collection. So I'll transfer it to the trading post section if someone wants it.
