Should the Bank of Canada be issuing more commemorative notes? I was just thinking about how they've only done so twice (1935 and 1967 respectively) Coin collectors have it easy compared to banknote collectors. And I'm not suggesting that The Bank of Canada go the way of the Royal Canadian "It snowed in Saskatchewan last night, lets mint a coin to commemorate it!" Mint or Canada Post which issues stamps commemorating questionable anniversaries like that of Canadian Tire, Petro-Canada and Home Hardware. A note commemorating things of *note* (Pardon the pun) once every other decade or so would be nice. Wouldn't want a situation like we have when it comes to coins with 49,613 different versions of the quarter being issued every year.
