Hello all forum members,

In the past few days I have contacted a number of members that have posted threads on the trading post that either no longer have the item(s) or some of the items that they have for sale or trade, or no longer want the items that they were originally looking for. I find it frustrating wasting my time sending emails or pms to people who should be closing their thread(s) once their objective has been met. Some post as are old as 10 months.
I think it would be a great help if members could make an honest effort to delete any threads that are no longer of use.
I'm not sure what the best way is for a moderator to see that a thread should be closed, but maybe if everyone could use the same few words it could be easily spotted and then deleted.
Please close thread seems simple enough.
Any others, agree/disagree?

It would be nice to know that what is posted is actually still valid

I agree-

"Please close thread" would be a courteous posting to write once thread is no longer applicable.

There are two issues here:

1) It is the responsibility of the many moderators to periodically close old Trading Post threads that have not been replied to in at least three months.  This clearly has not been done in quite some time, so on behalf of the entire contingent of moderators, I apologize.  I have cleared out these old threads today.

2) It is expected that regular members who post to the Trading Post also post a "close thread" message whenever their item is no longer for sale, is sold, or they have found what they want, etc.  Moderators then come around and remove the thread (and they're usually pretty good about this).

So, please everyone do your part and request your threads be closed when your thread is no longer relevant.

Thanks!
