Hey folks,

Was clearing a house I bought for renovation in Scotland (Yes Scotland) and came across a fair amount of old Canadian notes.

They are out of date now but just wondered if they were worth anything before destroying them.

5 x $5 1986
4 x $10 1989
17 x $20 1991

All in pretty good condition

Post the serial number of each notes please.

You say the notes are in pretty good condition, yet the first bill has the corner torn off of it, and most bills have folded corners, folds or creases in them. If the serial numbers are significant, such as ladders or repeaters or something significant like that, you may get a bit of a premium, otherwise in my opinion these bills are simply face value.

All notes issued by the Bank of Canada remain legal tender and can be deposited at any Canadian bank.  Motst Currency Exchanges will only accept only accept current notes and these notes are not current.  You may wish to speak to your bank ain Scotland about exchanging the notes or send them to a friend or relative in Canada who could covnert them into English Pounds (or Scottish Pounds with a little more effort).  The notes appear well circulated and the note would have to be very scarce to have a value in excess of "face".

Thanks folks. I'm no expert on whether they're good or not. Hence asking you guys who know. :)
there is a bank of Canada in Edinburgh so ill pop in there in a few days.

I'll pop up the serials later today as well in case there's the odd one that's of interest to you guys.

Thanks
