This post is about something a bit different than most happening on this forum. But it may be of interest to those with an interest in a different take on banknote museum and especially contemporary art and banknote coming together. It is at the G&D museum in Germany
As a Background about G&DGiesecke & Devrient is probably familiar to many on this forum some in good way as a world leading supplier to the banknote industry and some in not so good way as the firm that eventually lead to only one banknote printing company in Canada. Even though they may not be printing Canadian banknotes they are very much involved as some of their well known equipment is used here. More importantly for those involved with the replacement note business the increasing use of their single note inspection machine will make life interesting in Canada and the US.
About the Exhibit at the German Museum“Values” (“Werte”) is the title of the new exhibition by Munich artist Albert von Stein, opening next week at the museum of technology group and banknote specialist Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), also in Munich. The 36 artworks displayed examine the significance and treatment of value in our society.
