missing hologram

I have seen $5 notes on ebay  with missing holograms. Are they errors or is the hologram being removed some how??

Genuine examples have been found in new bricks but the error is unfortunately easily fabricated, so they won't get catalogue recognition.

Interesting that these notes are being certified by BCS. I wonder if that has any bearing?
