I wanted to thank you for the kindness you guys have shown. My dad was so chuffed with the information you have given us. He thought you might like more of the story. .........................

A fabulous note indeed! I enjoyed the ESSEX connection of this story as I was born in Essex myself and I lived in Upminster for 24 years before I emigrated to Canada in 1968. The word CHUFFED is very seldom heard in Canada and it was nice to see it used in a most appropriate context!

" Buy the very best notes that you can afford and keep them for at least 10 years. " (Richard D. Lockwood, private communication, 1978).

Good morning......

An interesting development came up with this note... my dad had a conversation with an expert in canada...he told us, as far as he can tell from checking the records, our note is probably the only known example of this particular version.....

Wow. Unbelievable find.

Here's a direct link to the auction catalogue. The auctioneer is estimating £4,000-£6,000.

Just to update the auction realization: Hammer was 6800 pounds which came to over C$13,000 with the buyer's premium.
