Rare coins found in your change

These coins could have been put aside by someone long ago et kept many years until the person has passed away...The succession may have found the coins in a jar or something like and were unaware about any value of these coins.  "It's only the old coins"  and returned the lot (in rolls) to the bank..

Very likely. The problem with pennies is that we don't use them. They get thrown in jars for years if not decades and then when it's time to clean out, we roll them and send them to the bank. I think this is why still today its not hard finding cents from the 1940's and sometimes even the 1930's occasionaly. I have even found a 1921 and 1929 in change. Too bad we don't find 25¢ pieces like that.

How about a 1991 quarter?  I have never had any luck finding these coins in change but im sure there are still some out there.

A few years ago, I stumbled across a 1991 25c coin...not in good shape at all...it looked like someone drug it behind a car for 20 km...BUT I found one in my change.   :-D

I haven't seen 2006 P penny in circulation...let alone a non-magnetic "P" penny.  I haven't even seen one for sale or anyone talk about one - they must be few and far between.

If you haven't found any your not alone. These pennies are very scarce. The 2006P Cents has a total of 233,000 minted which is very very small for a penny. Looking back in history i believe the 2006P is the cent with the lowest mintage rate on record with 1936Dot (Though only 3 are known to exist) in 2nd place with 700,000 and the 1907H in 3rd place with 800,000. To date only 82 have been confirmed to be non-magnetic.

There are 6 varieties of 2006 cents.  Mint symbol mag and non mag, No mark at all mag and non mag, and P mag and non mag.  The no mark magnetic is now cataloged at $200+ and the P non mag is never seen but one was for sale at $2000 online a while ago but I have never seen one since.

I've actually have found 2 1991 quarters in excellent condition. One was even the thin rim version while the other is the thick rim version.  Not sure what they're worth these days.
