Hello Gents,

Would like your opinion of this note. It seems to be repaired. How much does it affect its desirability and value? Is it real or a fake?

Any opinions are welcomed.

This note has been through alot!  It was torn apart and taped back together.  This note would be G/VG depending on the grader.  Normally, but not always, these lower grades do come with undisrable circulation handling defects.  The serial number indicates that the note was towards the production range's end with 600k printed and 407k issued.  The eye appeal is not optimal for most prospestive buyers but the note would make a good collection filler.  It's a note you would not see that often but occasionally at shows or in collections.  I can not say much for value but the best way to determine value, in my opinion, is to auction it to see what someone is willing to pay.  I am not an expert on these note types so hopefully this will help abit.

That's a beauty!  It appears to be a Renouf signature although the "f" is lost in the crease.  Couldn't find any quite as low in grade as yours but here are some comparisons that sold recently:

https://auctions.canadiancoinsandpapermoney.com/auction/81/public-rcna-auction-july-2019/session/173/lot/98

Interestingly there are a number of notes in the "340xxx" range that have survived.  The finest known is in this range and apparently so is the least-finest known.
