Interesting, I just found a HCG986 in almost brand new condition. Considering how close it is to the serial in the OP from 4 years ago, I wonder what happened to cause their travels to be so different.

I personally think that if a serial number prefix has very little activity for many, many months, or even over one year, chances are it is likely to appear in Atlantic Canada.

I did see many HCGs in Newfoundland, usually in the 5 million range.

Over 1100 HCG reported so pretty common prefix. Seen (& reported) many myself here in ON.  Haven't seen one IND nor any prefix which begins with "I" though I've been looking out for them.

Saw my first "IND" $5 in Toronto last week, only 1 and was well circulated already.

It would be pretty cool to see the first fresh $5 bills with printer letter I come to my region.  I did, however, find one each of HCV and HCW pretty recently, and with lack of incoming tourists coming from outside Atlantic Canada due to the COVID-19 saga, it's possible that the newer $5 bills with the varnish coating may officially have arrived to Atlantic Canada now.

Or maybe the main branches have received a supply of the newly printed varnish coated $5s and they are now being distributed.  I have a feeling it will be at least next spring before I finally see the $5s with printer letter I start appearing in my region.  I suspect HCY will likely appear in Newfoundland before I see any of the IN* prefixes.

I did check the SNDB, and it appears there is a reporting of INB last I checked.
