BANKNOTEABLE REFLECTIONS

Join us on Wednesday, November 25 for a virtual presentation about how public engagement helps the Bank of Canada create new bank notes that reflect Canada and can be used with confidence and pride.

How is the public involved with who goes on a bank note? How are the images chosen? Join Suzette Argo and Boyd Laanstra, specialists from the Bank of Canada’s Currency Department visual content team, as they chat about creating new bank notes for Canada. Peek behind the scenes and discover how Canadians have been engaged in creating bank notes we can all use with confidence and pride.

The virtual presentation will be 40 minutes with a Q&A to follow.

I wanted to attend this but something unexpected came up & I missed it.

How did it go?

Anyone who attended care to share?

I attended it. I thought that they said they were going to make the recording available.

They really only talked about the process they have undertaken for the $5 note so far. That was bulk of the conversation. I thought it was useful for someone who is interested at a very general level.

There were some interesting interactive exercises that they had.

I don't think you missed much though as most of what was discussed is available in their documented media.

Wonder what paper money would say if it could talk?

I thought it was interesting and wonderful of them to extend the invitation but I got the feeling they were somehow favouring Robertine Barry but that may have been for demonstration purposes.
