Can anyone give me some ballpark values as to the worth of a 1911 Newfoundland 50 cent piece? ( let say EF and  lower)
Also, what is the silver content?
Thx

You'll find the George V mintage's are somewhat higher then the earlier ones, still they would be considered very low for most coins but these are just not that popular. With a mintage of only 200,000 you would expect them to be worth more but here's the breakdown, Fine = $22.00, VF = $25.00 and EF = $40.00. This is the book price, if it's not an attractive coin don't expect much more then melt. The silver content is .925 and the weight is 11.7 grams giving you and actual silver weight of .3504 oz. The melt value if silver was at $35.00 would be approximately $12.25. Hope this helps.

Cheers Bill
