New $100 Note BJY Prefix

I just returned from the media presentation from the Bank of Canada launch of the $100 note in Vancouver.  I got to hold and see the new $100 note....

Hey coinsplus, since you are one of the lucky ones that could hold a new $100, can you give us your impressions about the new security features? Can they restore trust in the $100?

The note is a VERY gorgeous note.  The security features are very hi-tech and has one of the best anti-counterfeiting devices and techniques that I have seen.  The note is still made out of paper, and feels just like a regular $100 note.  Although the feel is the same, to the eyes, it's totally different.  

I wonder how long it will take these counterfeiters to duplicate it.

Also, I'm extremely certain that these new notes will still be refused by most stores, even though they've been just released.

The new journey 100... is it really "issue of 2001"

If you look at the BoC website, it includes the Journey $5, $10, and $100 as "2001" series, even though we all know that the $5 has an "Issue of 2002" printed on the front.

It'll say "Issue of 2004" on the front, and likely "Printed in 2003" on the back.

Heck, the BoC's website lists the entire Bird series as "1986", even though the last plate was engraved in 1991 (The $20),  and they list the issue dates going all the way up to 1993 (also the $20).
