The new $100 is shown on the Bank of Canada website:

It's nice!

Too bad it's just a "teaser" image and doesn't show the whole note.  

But, it looks like the security features have been beefed up, with "a metallic holographic stripe, a watermarked portrait and a see-through number."

As I work in the field of cartography and maps, this new note is a good candidate to become my favorite. I can't wait to see one up close.

What's VERY interesting is that the serial number is the EXACT SAME (except for the prefix) as on that JHS $5 "test note" that escaped from the BoC last year.

Has anyone noticed the new security features? The holographic stripe and the see through numbers I first saw on the Euros, and the watermark and the security thread are from American notes.

Should restore consumer confidence in the $100 note.

I wonder if they'll have the two note/identical serial number collector sets?

Good story, although the reporter got Borden's tenure wrong.  

Appears to be an improvement over the $5 and $10 for sure.  Still has the same dead prime minister on it, though.  Ho hum.  Would really like to see something different for a change.  I love the Merchants Bank of Canada 1906 $20 note with the steer's head on the left in lieu of a bank president's portrait.  Can you picture the brown $100 note with, say, a full-size engraving of a cariboo bust?  It's about time for a redesignage of our coinage too.

9 cents per note is 50% more than the old note: 4 cents for the note and 2 cents for the OSD.
