20 $ canadian journey error

I find a 20 $ Canadian Journey error. The number on back is correct. But de number is inverted on the face.

Is the number on the back and the reversed number on the front the same or different numbers?

Good question...  if it was a offset error, then the number would not be the same.

Do the reversed number line up exactly with the numbers on the front of the note?
If so I wonder about some stray  ink adhering to the raised impression of the serial number on the reverse of the note? :-?

The picture of the front looks like it was taken with a strong light behind it as this example is. Had it been stray ink adhering to the raised number impression then I suggest at least a bit of the centre bar would have been inked as well. Can you show us a full picture of the front of your note.

That is one weird error. At first I was thinking that it could be a bleed through, but the ink on the back doesnt look that dark, and the 0 in the serial number looks like its missing just a touch of ink, on the top right side on the back, but is a full zero in the front. So I have no idea.

Maybe someone used a very fine tip pen and copied it by hand in reverse with a light behind it ?

Looks like the ink may have been thinned and just soaked thru.

These kinds of errors have been reported here before.  I think what happened is that this sheed did  not get fed into the press that prints the serial numbers, and the number got printed onto the platen instead.  The press then detected that no sheet was fed so the number did not advance.  When the sheet was fed in, the same number was printed, which caused the transfer of the mirror image from the platen onto the face of the note.
