Hi all. One of my dealer friends here in Victoria has an odd note that he has had for years. He has asked me to try and find out if it is an authentic error or a "garage job". The note is a 1954 modified $1 bill. The back of the note appears to be very close to the color of the $5 from the same series. The note is very limp, and is likely About Good, Good at the best. One respected member of our club has stated that he beleives it to be bleach with a wringer-washer. What we were wondering is, will bleach affect only one side of the note? I cannot see applying bleach to only one side of a note, as it would soak right through
. One final observation: The note seems to be more transparent than normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you would like larger file sizes, as the original photos are 7.2 MP and ~2 MB in size.
Cheers,
Fenian
