Now for a more serious response to the question...
The Charlton Standard Catalogue of
Canadian Bank Notes, currently in its 5th edition, covers all known
chartered bank notes. It does NOT cover Bank of Canada, Dominion of Canada, Province of Canada, etc.
The Charlton Standard Catalogue of
Canadian Government Paper Money, currently in its 19th edition, covers -- as the title says -- all
government-issued paper money, including known municipal issues, depression scrip, etc.
If you collect chartered notes, get the
Canadian Bank Notes book. If you collect anything else, get the
Canadian Government Paper Money book.
