Does anyone know why the value of a sheet of $2 EGU notes dropped from $600 (18th ed of the Charlton Guide) to $400 (19th ed of the Charlton Guide)?

I think that it may be do to a surplus of sheets listed on ebay which were selling in the $200-$400 range previous to the release of the new charlton. Granted that the EGU prefix of $2 sheets are less common and the sheets which were listed on ebay were not the from the EGU prefix. Usually the individuals purchasing the sheets are not typically collectors and only buy them for their novelty. In my experience, many collectors do not know how or where to store them so they tend to stay away.

I think Oli came very close.  The EGU prefix was once thought very scarce in full sheets until an eBay dealer started offering large quantities of them.  One particular lot consisting of 25 sheets sold for $7,168, or less than $290 (US) each.  When large quantities suddenly appear of a commodity for which there is weak demand, the price will not hold.
So why did the price only fall to $400, and not $290?  Twenty-five sheets is a wholesale lot, and they could be expected, given time and promotion, to retail individually for a somewhat higher price.

Timely subject.last night, late night in Puerto Vallarta, because I couldn't sleep, turned on the StarChoice Satellite to The Shopping Channel.Low and behold, there is a regular seller of Paper Money selling uncut sheets of the EGU $2.00 notes for $479.00 or so(it was late, but it was the high $400's)
This seller also stated there were only 300 of these sheets printed?

Funny what you see in Mexico!
