The first 1937 note - King Edward VIII

Have a look at page three of this PDF (a sample of the
Art & Design of Canadian Banknotes
book published by the BoC):
http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/history_book/art/promo_art.pdf
It shows a specimen (or proof?) of a 1937 note with the portrait of Edward VIII. A month after the photo was approved the King abdicated, and we all know that these notes were never issued.
Presumably this Edward VIII note is in the national currency collection. Has anyone ever seen it or have more information about it? I have never heard of it other than what is mentioned in the PDF.

Somewhat unrelated, But I see that the image on page 8 of the PDF clearly shows AJX 1060000 (hidden BPN, I assume). This represents a confirmed low for BC-60aA.
