Note if heavily circulated, probably grade as F, or maybe VF

Most collectors will be surprised by the number of APE/APF mismatched prefix notes that were released
into circulation.  It is not uncommon for you to find them in your change.  It is missed by many people
who are not looking for it because of the subtle nature of the error.

Current research has shown the following:

1) All error notes recorded to date have FP # 80 and BP #59.
2) Based on this it is assumed that only one numbering machine per sheet was out of whack.
3) This would mean a whole brick of 1000 notes per ream (40,000 notes) would have this error.

I have attached several images of these error notes that came from different reams.

If we include the note in the post above we see that the gap between the highest and lowest serial
number is 319,910 notes.  As such, they are 7 reams apart meaning at minimum 7000 of these notes
were printed.

I have already found three of these errors in circulation.  I would estimate the value of this note at
no more than $100 in UNC.

Hello Arthur,

Now that you have used my note - SR# APF/E0514398 - in your dissertation, can I expect it, and the other note - SR# APE0515555, back any time soon?

You promised them back over two month ago.

Hello  Arthur ,
I like your dissertation for the mis-match  APF/APE.

I think the same idea of this error.

                                                       Yours sincerely  ,          P.A.

HI in my humble opinion

It is great that we do have people who do research on notes and that it should still be done.

We as collectors must take into account why we collect.  We buy items that  we like.  A true collector or hobbiest is able to enjoy notes that he or she have collected.  I think  to be offered a rare note that we see  is a mistake by the bank of Canada /printing company is  a collectors dream.   Even with the different series (modified, multi-colour,birds etc) finding an error and admiring it is never boring.  Do we know how many of 1 note for example in a 54 were printed.  Maybe only a handful or maybe thousands.   it really doesn't take away from the idea of an error note.

Who will really benefit from this....
I think that collectors children and collectors grand children will benefit as well as the collector.

Quote- from Canda -Banknote.  "I would estimate the value of this note at
no more than $100 in UNC.
"

The price offered from JWS is a legit and worth while investment.   I have dealt with  him before and he has a always been fair and honourable.  I do not think he would try to rip off anyone not like some people would.

my humble opinion.

I have to agree with this statement 100%.  I purchase what I like and want to own. I have slowly started my daughter on collecting banknotes and I can see the excitement in her eyes when I get a brick or two. She is actually interested in what I am doing, what I find (if anything), and of coures "What is that worth"
I think it is a great hobby, and I truly hope she sticks with it..which it appears so far the interest is growing...However, as for my wife....she still thinks I'm NUTS 8)

This note is now listed on our "love to hate" auction site, starting at $25.00, already with one bid.

Here's a interesting question.  As their are so few APF's that have been spotted, wouldn't it be possiable that they are actually APE's with a prefix error on each side?

Well apparently this note in CIRCULATION is up to $127.50 on our favorite auction site.  How high will it really go for in Circulated condition is yet to be seen.

I would once again like to thank John for giving me an opportunity to purchase one of these notes in UNCIRCULATED condition.  I have not regretted it for a moment, and I'm sure that some of you that did not take the opportunity to get one while they were available are sorry that they didn't
