1986 $2 AUG Question.

I saw an 1986 $2 AUG on ebay a couple of days ago in VF condition for $2 U.S. and no one bid on it, should a guy pick these up when he sees them? I still have the guys email in my ebay watched items.

There are two different AUG notes... The Crow-Bouey AUG which is a farely hard note to find in UNC and AUG thiessen-Crow which is exceptionally rare. The AUG note in VF at $2.00 on e-bay... no there was no need to jump at it right away. It was only in VF and was not worth more than face value. AUG notes with Crow-Bouey are quite common in low grade.

Its a REPLACEMENT because he is using this term to replace the word "changeover"...

Where does low UNC fit into the grading scheme?

Sure, it's RARE and a REPLACEMENT - just like it's a radar note and a ladder note and a rotator note and an uncirculated note...
Truth be told, it's none of the above.  Just more hype (to give it a polite name) from our favourite auction site.
