This is my only Chartered Note I had a couple more CN's but sold them a while ago.

My I ask if anyone knows the relative value of this note?

From the scan provided (thank you for that BTW), your note is catalogued as 375-18-06: Imperial Bank of Canada, 1923 $10, signed Peleg Howland / A.E. Phipps.

From the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Bank Notes, 4th Edition, this note is estimated to be worth the following amounts:
VG: $75
F: $100
VF: $175
EF: $275
AU: $450
UNC: $600

Your scan looks to put this note at about a grade of "Fine (F)", but I would have to see it in person before I stand behind the grade.

Now, the catalogue I used is outdated: I only have the 4th edition, which was released in (I think) 2002. The 5th edition was released in 2006 (I think), and the 6th edition is due out this summer. I expect the values have gone up, but I am unsure as to by how much.

Two notes from the Imperial Bank of Canada 1923 series were recently sold on eBay in the unrestricted auction format. A $5 sold for $184.50 while a $20 sold for $157.00. The $5 was in better condition than your $10 note while the $20 was in poorer condition.

This should give you some idea of the value of your note. Always remember that eBay is a great tool for checking the values of paper money and don't forget to perform a "Completed Listings" search in addition to a "Current Listings" search.

but kept the scans.









BTW yes I know I was stupid but I was getting a killer deal on another hobby object and I needed the cash I bought both those for $50
