Charlton says:

Quote
Almost all specimen notes of this issue available to collectors were sold by public auction in November 1999 by the Bank of Canada.  These specimen notes have been perforated diagonally with the word "SPECIMEN" three times. (...) Specimen notes exist (from other sources) which are not perforated "SPECIMEN".

Any idea how many of these exist or where they are from?

I think there are a fair amount still in exsistance.

At the upcomming Torex auction I believe they have all the 1937 "SPECIMEN" notes graded by PMG ( :-\) but they are all Unc or higher.

Just so you know I am not sure about how many of these are still in exsistance but I did see '37 "SPECIMEN" notes at the CNA and Torex. Just My Opinion!

Do you know if those you saw were perforated with the word "Specimen"?  Those would be the ones sold at the Bank auction in 1999.  If they were AU's as described at the time they could easily have been graded Unc by PMG.

This one apparently came from a different source so I'm wondering if it's worth more??

There is one coming up for auction at the Torex auction on Saturday.

I don't know if its worth more though.

Is there a Specimen number on the other side of the note or is all the specimen notice just on the side you have pictured?

I would believe there would be something on the back.

Actually there is no specimen number nor any any overprint on the back, at least not on the note I posted.

Does anyone own an example from the BofC sale for comparison?
