Investment Note...Apparently

I seen this note on eBay today, I thought it was pretty funny. For USD $12,000 ($12,738 Canadian) you can own a note the seller describes as "A Great Investment" Here is the description (I bolded the "interesting" parts)

"This 1937 $2 bill one of the rarest Canadian bills today as there are only a couple of them left. it is a great investment and will only go up in value as it ages, anyone who is willing to hold onto it for a couple of years can make a great amount of money selling it a few years. i would love to keep it but i am strapped for cash these days. the bill has a rip in the middle that has been taped up,but is in perfect condition aside for that. i am sure you can really cash in on this product!"




Well, I think we can all agree that this is a true trophy note, A great price as well!

Yeah! Then the note could easily be worth double.

What about this item:  "7 Rare Hard to Find World Bank Note", with a "Buy it Now" at 12,000,000.00 US$ ( )?  You'll pay only 30 $ for shipping... .  These is even no Canadian note... .

 I'm wondering what the seller hope to put a such grossly exaggerated price.  But you can make an offer (the option is on)...

I guess the one good thing ( although not really) is that it's such an outrageous listing that most won't get caught by it. I find that if it's a more subtle listings with lower prices these can sucker the average collector into a purchase. I'm sure we have all see these regularly. Just last month i called out 2 items being sold as cutting errors which were fakes. The first guy had no idea then took down his listing which is respectful but the second guy continued to lie about the note. Trying to sucker someone into buying fake note for a few extra bucks is pathetic at the least and their time would be best served getting a second job if cash is an issue which would be more honorable.

The saddest part is how much money he must've given to eBay in listing this item.

This same guy has a 1968 SILVER dollar that is made of NICKEL. He describes it as having a "rowboat" on one side and a queen on the oyher. Must be a rare one also.

   A few years ago I bought a lot of notes off of eBay, there was a 1937 $1 in that lot, I think with Co-To signatures and a very common prefix, and the condition is a little better then the $2 that is for sale for $12,000. I should email the seller and ask if he is interested, I will sell it to him at such a low price it will be impossible to refuse ($4,500). I think it's a steal and if he holds onto it for a few years it could be worth a fortune... Lol

The price of the note is now USD $10, but $25 shipping.
