I've had this for some time, along with others.  I would be very interested as to its value.  It is actually a commemorative piece of sorts, it is from the year my parents were married.
Charlton Number: BC 24b
Serial Number: R  5233608  (that is R over D)
                             D
Either Very Fine or Fine
Issue date: Ottawa 2ND January 1937  (when I go the the site for the Bank of Canada it states issue date 19 July 1937, which makes me wonder.)
Signatures:  Gordon (Deputy Governor) & Towers (Governor)
Any information on this would be greatly appreciate.
Many thanks

Welcome to the forum,
The 1937 series of bank notes were issued in January 1937 but not released until July 1937.  If you're other notes are 1937 they are all from the same series.
Your Gordon/Towers $10 is relatively common and in the grade you describe it is valued at the absolute most...$20...far more valuable for you to keep as a "commemorative piece".
Hope this helps.
