I've wanted to ask this for quite awhile. Is the number known for when the big B changed to a small B in the 1986 $2 BBP prefix?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of any such known changeover, but if there is interest, a list could be created, as done for several other subjects of interest.

I remember that prefix when it was released back in 1989-90.  I remember seeing a BBP with the big B somewhere in the low 3-million range, and a small B in the higher 3-million range.  :D

My two buck's worth is that the changeover is somewhere in the 3-Million range.   :)

Later!  Jonathan  ;)

The CPMS Newsletter, Dec. 1998, had highest large B, BBP3332593, and lowest small B, BBP4734450.

Jonathan - your recollection appears to be spot on.  Did you keep records, or better still, the notes?  It would be great to reduce this gap.

I have been into serial numbers on Canadian banknotes for 22 years.  It has been so much an interest to me, it is my "fondest obsession".  ;D  In addition, I have an "eidetic" memory, which helps a lot.

*I said "eidetic" after all those years of watching "Bill Nye The Science Guy" on PBS, way back when! :D

Anybody else have any questions to ask me?  ;D

Keep up the good work!

Jonathan  ;)

It would be interesting to see where the changeover actually takes place.
Anyone else with BBP's Large & Small B's ?

I'm creating a list and some corresponding threads to report new numbers.  Please post new finds there.

Thanks!
