The Canadian Government Paper Money Catalogue 22nd edition
It can be picked up at most books stores like Chapters
The 23rd edition should be out late this summer.

I am not aware of any other paper that has prices for Canadian banknotes.
If you find one ...let me know

For Canadian Bank notes charlton is really your only option. The charlton is really well written and is updated every year. 2006... way outdated. Even the current 22nd edition is already outdated for the current series.

When you sell a note, what percentage of the trends/current price would you expect to get?

I don't think there's a simple answer to that question.  Lot's of variables.  Common notes in lower grades sell well below book.  I'm sure there's many that sell above book value...generally the deep pocket type of notes.
Current market conditions,  new range discoveries, etc are factors too.
There's been some decent notes offered on the forum recently that aren't selling a values well below book.

I definitely agree ..there are too many variables...as well as the motivation of the seller.

If you really are interested to know current "trends" here's a few suggestion. Look at online auctions, eBay, Torex ect, go to money conventions, sign up to the Canadian Paper Money Society, buy a current Charlton book, buy old Charlton books and compare them, use the search feature on this site, try and find links to the dealers websites and inventory and after a few years (takes some time) you will have a much better idea of "trends". If your looking for a website that you can enter a serial number and get current prices as one would do with a stock quote, you're truly out of luck.

Does the Canadian Coin News have trends anymore for paper currency?  CCN did try the 1937 & 1935 series in the late 1990s or early 2000s.  It was a pretty simple price list that pretty well reiterated the Charlton prices. I have not subscribed to it in a long time so assume they no long do it?

Australia - yes they do.

The CCN has just started again to list paper money pricing once or twice a year thanks to Mike F. I believe that the current issue has just list notes, so pick one up, as it will not be in every issue.

You are right about it being pretty simple, and more or less reiterates Charlton pricing
