I came across a $20 Canadian Bank Note, Printed 2009. It caught my eye because the serial number on the left side started with "F.IK" and the serial number on the right is simply "FIK". To make sure it wasn't a pen mark or dirt, I used a 10x Magnifier. The ink on the dot is the same ink on the serial number. This Bank Note is in UNC condition. I'd really like feedback on this.

Thanks!

I sure would like to see a scan.

Is it just a harmless prefix-kix or do I live for that next prefix-fix?

Hi Manal,

Interesting and I do have a similar note in my collection. If someone would consider this an error, it would be a very very very minor error.

As to how this occurred, it is tough to say;

- The numbering mechanism could have been over inked and a lnk droplet fell onto the note
- The numbering wheel could have a piece of debris in the mechanism that left a small dot on the note
- A spring in the mechanism got loses, acting as an other surface to grad the ink.

Hope this helps
