Do you have the latest catalog prices for Bank of Canada 1954 Solid Numbers ?

I like to know what are latest catalogue prices for 1954 Solid ( eg. 5555555 ) for $1000, $100, $50, $20, $10, $5, $2, $1. Thanks in advance.

For a whole set its $8500... $1,100 for the 1, 2 $1,200 for the 5, 10 $1,250 for the 20 $1,300 for the 50 and $1,350 for the 100. For the $1,000 there is no price listing. Do you have one? Never seen one before, can you post a picture of it. Would be very interesting to see it!

Although the above are current catalogue prices, what you should be more interested in is "market" prices.

A 1954 $100 solid 2s that graded PCGS 62 sold for CDN $ 6,490 at the October 2010 Torex.  On physical examination it was probably closer to AU/Unc.

I currently have an original GUnc 1954 $100 solid 1s that I purchased in 2008 at an auction in Hong Kong.  I recently was in Sarasota so I took it into PMG for grading.  It came back GUnc 65 EPQ.  I have been offered upwards of $10,000 for this note but have yet to bite on any offer.  I keep a detailed registry of all 1954 solid radars and there are only 4 of the $100 denomination that have surfaced in the public arena.

B/J 7777777 in CUnc that was sold in April 1999 by Mike Abramson (Executive Currency) and was part of a set of six 1954 solid 7s which included the $1, $2, $10, $20, $50 and $100.

My B/J 1111111 that was purchased at Baldwin's Hong Kong Coin Auction in August 2008 and was part of a set of 1954 solid 1s that included the $1, $10, $20 and $100.

C/J 2222222 graded PCGS 62 that was sold at the October 2010 Torex Auction.

B/J 5555555 that is currently in your collection.

The 1954 $20 solid radars have trended in excess of catalogue because they rarely show up at public auction.

I know of only two 1954 $50 solid radars.  The CUnc B/H 7777777 that was sold by Mike Abramson in 1999 and the CUnc A/H 7777777 that I have in my collection.  There has been no public auction of a 1954 $50 solid radar since 1999 and thus no true market value can be established.

Based on published serial number ranges there is the possibility of only one 1954 $1000 solid radar and it is the A/K 1111111 

I hope to submit my registry of 1954 solid radars to the CPMS in the near future, for publication in an upcoming newsletter.

Thanks Arthur and JB-2007 for the valuable information. I used to have a set of 1954 $5 1111111 to 9999999 purchased from Mike ( Executive Currency ). At that time, my only aim is the $5 5555555 piece, I sold off the rest of the solid notes scattered around the world through ebay in 2004/2005. The 8888888,9999999 and 1111111 is in Taiwan. The rest are in Canada and USA. 

B/J 1111111 appears to have one border much shorter than the other three, so it wouldn't get a Gem grading by Canadian standards as good centering is a requirement for that grade.  But if PMG wants to call it Gem, who am I to differ?
