The wiki site has been updated the reflect the new information contained in the article above.

The upgraded Journey series appears to be the first time that the sheets have not been numbered in a straightforward chronological order.  With the Bird series, we were used to seeing the lowest number on the sheet in the top left corner, and the following notes across the row would be skip numbered higher.  The pattern would repeat across each row down the sheet.  This logical and predictable numbering pattern needed only one diagram to show the layout.  These days, with the printing equipment being much more sophisticated such that any serial number could be printed at any position of the layout, we need to treat serial number layouts and position number layouts separately.  With each position number layout, the printers can create several serial number layouts.  This is exactly what was found to be happening.  Whereas we thought that BAI was printing with at least two 45/on position number layouts (previously designated as #3A and #3B), now we know they are using one 45/on position number layout with at least two serial number layouts.  They also have a 36/on position number layout with its own unique serial number layout used only for $20 ALV notes in the range 7200000-7559999.  This latest discovery is not presented in the article above, but in time it will be.

The article has been extensively rewritten to incorporate new information discussed above.  It is now in a format that makes it more suitable for publication.  Now I just need to get my website up to date...  ::)
