I do agree that the older notes--1937, 1935, and the Domion notes.... do posess that "elegance" that you mentioned.  And I will also admit that my choice of the multicoloured series is partly influenced by nostalgia--I grew up with those.....

But I still stand by what I said.

I find it hard to believe only one slight mention of the 1972 $5, easily my first choice.  In fact the whole multi-coloured series as a whole (notwithstanding the unilateral agreement of the 1979 $20 portrait side) have fantastic images.  Perhaps my biases are showing having grown up in Sarnia, watched the July 1st musical ride and vacationed in Campbell River and Morraine Lake.

Birds get the boring nod but I can't quite commit to ugly.

read Jonathans post and so im here bumping this thread

Love the MultiColoured $5 the most and hate the backs to the Journey notes, fronts are good.
