Can anyone recommend a source to get a good deal on the Commerce Bank issues of 1935 or 1917, or whatever.  Really like them...especially the $20.  Trying to find a better deal than ebay.  Is there a website of a dealer I might not be able to find through Googling?  Looking for VF condition, but would consider Fines.

Cheaper than eBay?  Wow, that IS cheap.

I have a number of Commerce notes.  Not sure I want to entertain any offers less than eBay, lol.

Hey, when you sell on the 'bay, you lose about 12% to 15% in fees.  That's why good old fashioned internet buy and sell boards are making a comeback.

On higher price items, it's possible to keep the seller fees down under 10%, including PayPal.  Even at 15%, that's better than entertaining offers that are 30-40% below what a little bit of competition might produce.  If private boards are so much better than eBay for sellers, why would the buyers want to leave eBay?

There was a 1917 Canadian Bank of Commerce $20 (small signature) graded PMG VF25 in the latest TCNS auction in Calgary.  It had a reserve of $465 and did not sell.  I am sure it will appear in their next auction.  An extremely nice XF (not graded) small signature note was sold to a dealer on the bourse at the RCNA for $900 with both the seller and buyer pleased with the transaction.

The Canadian Bank of Commerce 1917 Logan (small) $20 now appears in the lastest TCNC September auction.  There are no reserves in this auction but the current estimate is $900-$1000.  It's nice to know the market is so strong.

The 1927 Bank of Commerce $20 (graded PMG25) sold for $407.10 plus taxes and shipping.  A PMG15 sold for $324.20 plus tax and shipping.

I have yet to buy a TPG note and wish (probably in vain) that more dealers would use BCS.

I guess Gresham's Law is still valid.
