I have three twenty five cent bills that my father-in-law had saved.  One is dated January 2nd 1900, signed by JC Saunders, Deputy Minister of Finance.  The second on is dated OTTAWA, July 2nd 1923 and also signed by JC Saunders as well as signed by a Comptroller of Currency, but I can't understand the signature. It ends with pedman.  The third is dated March 1st 1870 and is signed by JD Harrington, For Receiver General and
W Dickinson For Minister of Finance. They have obviously been circulated but are in plastic covers and have been for years.  Anyone know what they might be worth?

You would have to better describe the condition of your notes as just one change in grade (ex from F to VF) can have a major change in value. Perhaps you might want to post pics of yours notes. This would help a lot.
For the 1870 note, more info is needed. You need to check under the 1870 and above Dickinson's signature for either the letter A or letter B. If you don't see any letter then this is the "plain" series. There are big difference in prices pending the series you have.
The 1900 note is very common. Generally the Saunders note in circulated is worth anywhere from $7-125 again condition is really important.
The 1923 note, more information is needed. Either its a HYNDMAN-Saunders note or its MCCAVOUR-Saunders and is worth between $9-135.
