0004000 would be or 0094900 it must read the same forwards as backwards

If you really have a Coyne/Towers 1954 asterisk replacement note then it is a Devil's Face replacement and worth a good dollar (no matter how many zeros!) depending mostly on the condition of the note.  If you have a scan or can submit a jpeg photo of your note then we might be able to give you an approximate grade.

According to my 2011 catalogue your note would fetch $800 (Very Good) to $7000 (in Choice Unc).   Please keep in mind this is only a catalogue value which is a ballpark figure depending a lot on the eye appeal of your note.  Some collectors may seek a note with all your zeros but since its relevance (as  a replacement for the Devil's Face series) that typically trumps the zeros in terms of special numbers (keep in mind the majority are low # notes which start with 000#### since so few of these were printed).

Is there an asterisk or "star" (*) to the left of the A/A?  If the prefix is A/A and not *A/A, then it's not a replacement.

Finally figured it out. Not a crisp bill but folds are minimal

Very nice! This note looks like its an F grade. Nevertheless and that grade its still worth a fair amount. Catalogue is priced at $1,100.

Wow..Thanks for the info..My dad was an avid coin and bill collector until his untimely death in 1966..This bill has been in numerous places for all that time and now I think it needs a new home...Thanks again

It could just be the quality of the image, but those asterisks look suspicious.  Better get the note authenticated via certification, IMO.

That picture helps.  The asterisks look as they should, meaning real, not added by someone with a stamp and inkpad
