Hey guys,

Just picked up a couple UNC $1 radars! Got them at the Ontario Numismatic Association 51st Annual Convention in Kitchener. Thought they were cool so I grabbed them!

Some pictures for your viewing pleasure  :)

Nice radar notes!   Were the prices reasonable for these notes?  The reason I ask, radar notes don't seem to be that popular with collectors in the US.  Most are crazy about solids, and error notes!

  Smile from your heart.  ;D

This is so true. When I was at a show in Florida a few dealers had solids that were asking unreal prices but it seemed the demand is there. Even saw one sold for what I thought was hwy robbery.  As for radars I could pick them up few literally a few dollars over face and they were plentiful...but not into radars or US currency anyways

Nice pickups! Yes american's don't really care too much for radars unless they are "Super Radars" (Following the format ABBBBBBA). I didn't see those when I went, however I went on Sunday so i guess most of the good things have already been snapped up by collectors.

Here's something interesting I'd like to share that goes with your last pictured note.

Yes price was very reasonable, I also picked up this with the lot and we worked out a deal.

Do you remember what some of the US solids were going for?

Very cool! Thanks for sharing  :) Yeah I purchased these from Scott on Saturday. One dealer had a set of UNC 1954 $5's with the serial numbers reading 9999999, 1000000 and 1234567... gorgeous notes but they were apparently spoken for. Also went for we'll over charlton.

Another dealer had the same in 1954 20's

I was just about to pick up an UNC 1954 $2 solid 1's from Geoffery Bell's table but the ATM wouldn't allow me to withdrawal anymore cash haha
