Changeover must be in HBG it seems.  I'll post a pic once I find batteries for my camera and should I enter them in the SNDB now or wait until the changeover is changed?

Go ahead and input your notes to the SNDB.  Send in a scan of the serial number please.

I noticed this new trend with the front and back plate numbers when I got my first Polymer $10 bill today, and it turns out that both those numbers are identical now.  Makes me wonder if it has to do with the BoC relying on only one printer (CBN), since BABN withdrew from printing banknotes indefinitely?

The FPN and BPN match for all polymer notes, without exception.  This is not new with the $5s and $10s.  Even BAI $20s and $50s follow this rule.

Here are the scans for the two polymer $10 bills which were picked up for the TD bank in downtown Ottawa at 12:30 pm.  I may have typed in the plates numbers to be 13 as I was working from my Blackberry.  They are definintely plate number 12 on the front and back of these bills.

HBG 7348646 35 35    Poloz   (new low)

...And all the way on the other side of the country too!   :)  I wonder if any M/C polymer 5$ will be released and if so will they be scarce like the journey 2011 M/C 5$?   :-\

Stopped in at a local BMO and they said the new notes just came in this morning.

Picked up 7 consecutive FEY M/C $10s and 14 HBK M/P $5s (779005 - 7790020) that included a new low for the HBK and weren't all consecutive.  Both had the same F/P and B/P numbers (28).

Missing 10 and 16 in the range of $5s for some reason.

Good question, indeed they did issue Macklem-Carney polymer $5's... there is an HBG note in the SNDB reported with that signature. Time will tell.

The one in the SNDB was seen by Brent at a pre-release Bank of Canada event. I don't believe any M-C 2013 $5s have been reported in actual circulation yet.

Sorry forgot the signatures on the last post, The $10's are M/C and the $5's are M/P. I will also add them into the data base when i get the first chance.

I got a bundle of 100 from RBC today.
HBK5581661-765 FP 49 BP 49 Macklem-Poloz

but curiously, the bundle is missing the following numbers:

5581665
5581700
5581707
5581717
5581729

What gives?

Incidentally, how should I report this in the sndb?  Do you only want the first and last notes in the bundle?

You are correct about that at the time you posted.  I just checked the SNDB and now it appears there is another note entered in 5$ M/C polymer which is higher than BWJM's note but less than the 5000000 unconfirmed changeover.  I wonder if it is a M/C or a M/P?

Dean:

This same type of thing happened with the new $20's last year, too.

I remember several posters getting a whole bunch with numbers missing here and there.

Strange...

Marc :)

I picked up some new $5 and $10 and I find it interesting that in the 5's I got S/N's HBH2944441,2,3, no2944444, then 2944445, 6, 7 etc
someone was in the bundles getting S/N's
the 10's were FTB
