I happened to stumble across this international currency conference at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver, BC.  It starts, May 10-13, 2015.

This is the premier global conference for the banknote industry.  All the majors central banks will be in attendance, along with many currency printers, currency designers, and security experts.  The Bank of England, Reserve Bank of Australia, Bank of Mexico, US Federal Reserve, Bank of Canada, European Central Bank, and other central banks around the world, will be presenting at this meeting.

I looked at the agenda, presentations, and speakers, and it seems to be an awesome conference talking about:
- The future of cash
- Currency planning and issuance
- Central Bank currency functions and cash operations
- Currency lifecycle and forecasting
- Technology trends
- Anticounterfeiting discussions

Here is a link to the brochure and individual speakers (currency experts from many central banks will presenting):

Presenters, biography, and details of topics to be discussed:

The Bank of Canada Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn Wilkins will also be presenting at the conference.

Agenda:

There is also an exclusive, behind the scenes look, of the Bank of Canada Currency Operations Tour for delegates:

And also, a Royal Canadian Mint production tour (more detailed, than a regular public tour):

Also on hand, Bank of Canada, Director of Research, Currency Department.

This sounds like a great conference.  I am sure security will be tight at the Exhibit Halls and Booths viewing.

Here's a link to all my personal photos that I took of the conference through my flickr account:

I took a sneak peak at the displays...tons of specimen notes and experimental notes from the various central banks.   Totally cool.

Various printers such as De La Rue, Crane Paper, Canadian Bank Note Company, etc, have displays.

I would not be surprised samples were given out to delegates.

Hi docstrange,  Unfortunately, I am unable to attend.

Change that.  I just returned from the Exhibit Halls, and met a few people.    I will post some photos of the event later.   There was LOTS of samples and TEST notes given out to government delegates by the various security money manufacturers.

I was in awe.

Hi coinsplus,

I learned about this conference just today from seeing this thread, and within a half an hour was down at the Bayshore. I tried to stroll in but was stopped by security and directed to the registration desk, who just laughed when I asked if I could have a visitor's pass. They insisted that it was for pre-registered attendees only.

How did you get in if you wren't registered? Dark suit? I'm guessing my jeans and bike helmet dangling from my backpack didn't help my chances any.  :'(

Security is tight, especially when you have government dignitaries walking around.  There's actually undercover RCMP officers inside the Exhibit Hall.

I got lucky.  I bumped into an old school friend who is an attendee representing the Canadian Bank Note Company.   We went to high school together in Ontario many years ago.  He allowed me to accompany him.

I should add that these are used for internal bank machine testing.

Wow. Man I tried to pay for this conference and they would not accept my registration. :(

Please let me know if you are willing to pull strings for me for the next one. Do you know where it is going to be?

Thx for sharing the information.
