Is there a tutorial on the database?

I signed up here a long time ago, and never used the site so this is my first post.
I have collected coins for a while now and started into notes.
I recently got a stack of Journey notes from the bank and was directed here to research them.
I see there is a large database, but I did a search for a tutorial and got no results.
If someone could direct me to the info of what  terminology and colour codes refer to in the database I can start my digging!

I don't think there's a tutorial per se, but we do have a separate forum specifically about the SNDB.  Have a browse through there and go right back to the oldest threads.  If after reading that stuff you have any questions, feel free to ask.
