I just repatriated a collection of Canadian Serial Number 1 Notes from a US collector.  Several of these notes have not been seen publicly for almost 20 years.

The 1937 $1 H/M0000001 was purchased by the US collector at the 1998 CAA Auction on October 23rd, 1998.  It has remained in his collection until now and is one of only two known in private hands (the other being the B/M0000001).

The 1967 $1 R/O0000001 was purchased by the US collector at the 1999 CAA Auction on January 8th, 1999.  It has remained in his collection until now and is one of only two known in private hands (13 possible).

Amazing collection!

I'm curious what the customs procedures were re getting them back in to Canada. Declaring only the face value or "Canadian goods returning to Canada" for a full exemption seem too good to be true.

It's great to see this older thread brought back to life.  Those notes are simply amazing.  Just one note is a trophy piece for any collection.  I can really appreciate these notes and thier rarity
